This activity requires a moderate level of physical fitness, as it involves some physical exercise, including some uphill walking and going up and down steps along the trails inside the National Park.

This full-day excursion combines the best of Costa Rica’s nature, wildlife, and culture.

We begin with a guided hike of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes in Tenorio Volcano National Park, home to the magical Río Celeste, originally known as Buena Vista River. Its crystal-clear waters, which take on an impressive turquoise-blue color, make it one of Costa Rica’s most extraordinary natural wonders.

The hike includes visits to the impressive Río Celeste Waterfall, a panoramic viewpoint with beautiful views of the lush tropical rainforest, and the unique point where Río Celeste meets Quebrada Agria, creating a spectacular contrast between turquoise and crystal-clear waters.

After the hike, we will travel by vehicle for approximately 15 minutes to a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch. You will also have the opportunity to visit a beautiful butterfly garden and observe several species of birds.

Next, we will take a one-hour walk along secondary trails, offering excellent opportunities to spot sloths, monkeys, toucans, motmots, and several spectacular frog species, including the iconic red-eyed tree frog (Agalychnis callidryas) and the vibrant strawberry poison dart frog, also known as the “blue-jeans” frog (Oophaga pumilio).

The day concludes with a cultural visit to banana, coffee, sugar cane, and cacao plantations, where you will learn about traditional agricultural processes and enjoy a tasting of local products.

Afterward, we will return to your accommodation.

Optional: stop at a local souvenir shop.
